Coldsteel Families and Friends,

Hello, I hope this message finds all the members of the Coldsteel family doing well.  The soldiers continue to impress me everyday with their professionalism and dedication to duty.  The soldiers truly are making a difference.  In the past month several of the projects that the company sponsored have been completed.  The company dedicated two schools in villages near our Forward Operating Base and several water projects have been completed.  I think the soldiers really enjoyed the school dedications; the Iraqi children were all smiles and welcomed us into their classrooms.  The soldiers gained a new appreciation for the facilities they take for granted back in the U.S.  The water projects provide a village of 400 with water for everything from drinking to washing.  These basic needs were not provided for them during the former regime.  Again, I know the news tends to focus on the ugly side of the U.S. mission in Iraq while the hard work and goodwill of the thousands of soldiers goes largely unreported, that is frustrating and we need you help in getting our message out to the families and communities.   The men are doing great, selfless work and continue to make me proud to be a part of this organization.

Aside from the strain of being away from family and friends, the soldiers are now fighting the desert summer.  Temperatures have reached well over 120 during the hottest part of the day.  We continue to look out for each other, and take the heat into consideration when we plan our missions, I want to assure you that we are taking care of your soldiers.  Thank you again for all your support, the letters and packages continue to boost the soldiers’ morale every time it arrives.  Take care.
