Security Note - I will never, to the best of my ability, divulge any information that could conceivably put our soldiers and their mission at risk - and they will do the same by not telling you all they know.  So, please keep that in mind if you don't read as many details as you'd like to see.  We never know who is listening on phone lines from Iraq to the US nor do we know who might be reading these updates that I send out.
Soldiers and Sailors Relief Act - Have you ever heard of this act, from 1940?  Do you know what it covers?  More important - do you know what it does not cover?

New York Congressman Steve Israel is trying to gather information to modify and update this federal act.  Please read this page and check the links that detail this obsolete act.

If you know of any military having, or had problems after being deployed, please go to this page and let the Congressman know.

This is the link for the brownies, there is a list of 9 various recipes for "brownies in a jar".  The only problem I see is that all the recipes call for either or all eggs, oil, milk.  That's good for the states, but what about Iraq or Afganistan?

However - I have been urged not to send the "brownies in a jar" to Iraq - the heat will cause a fast growth in bacteria, also this was mentioned on www.military.com.

A warning also from Joe & Chris - There has been some information, as well as an official request from the Military, NOT to send brownies in a jar - they may not bake at suffienctly high temperatures to kill the bacteria.
